For most of his working life Richard has taught introductory mathematics, geography, geology and physical science courses at several colleges and universities across the U.S. He currently teaches "Integrated Science" at the University of Montana College of Technology in Missoula. He is a current member of the Glacial Lake Missoula Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute and a former "Acting" Vice President. He was the pilot of a Cessna 172 when all the air photos on this site were taken.
Richard strives to convey accurate up-to-date scientific information while at the same time having some fun. Hence he calls himself an "Edutainer". He wants his audience to have an enjoyable experience, whether they are college students or a grandma and grandpa with little scientific training.
Richard spent several years as a stay at home dad and has been involved in schooling his own and other children.
